Halloween onboard Isle of Man Railways

by isleofman.com 30th October 2012

Isle of Man Railways had a spooctacular Halloween, (or Hop-tu-Naa as it is traditionally know on the Isle of Man)!

This year saw the addition of a ‘Witch’s Lair’ at Snaefell Summit, there Jinny the Witch and friends were waiting with giant spiders and goodie bags to meet any ‘little monsters’ travelling to the summit on our Victorian Mountian Railway. The Lair was very popular with all service trams full and extra trams needed to shuttle those that could not fly up on their broom sticks. Jinny had a great time at the Summit and plans to drop in again next year.

At Douglas steam railway station, zombies burst into synchronized dance around a platform graveyard and gallows, all to Michael Jacksons Thriller as the Ghost train steamed off into the darkness. On board, passengers (most of which joined into the ‘spirit’ of things and dressed up) enjoyed refreshments from the on board bar before returning back from the Castle of the Cursed.
