Postal staff to enjoy 'Pinkie Snacks' during November

by isleofman.com 13th November 2012
A pink vending machine will be housed at Postal Headquarters, Douglas throughout the month of November.

From yesterday (Monday), postal staff were able to purchase what’s being termed as ‘pinkie snacks’ from a pink themed vending machine with all the proceeds from sales at Postal Headquarters benefiting Breakthrough Breast Cancer Isle of Man.

Lucy Webster-Thompson, PR & Communications Manager, of Isle of Man Post Office said: “The vending machine by its very nature adds a splash of colour to our working environment and certainly stands out from the standard vending machines we normally have. We are delighted to house it at Postal Headquarters throughout this month and hope our staff usage of it benefits this worthy charity.”

The machine has been supplied by MannVend who decided to support Breakthrough Breast Cancer Isle of Man as their chosen charity for this year.

Tracey Leahy, Managing Director of MannVend said: “To give our support, we created a special pink vending machine which vends confectionery and snack items. Over the year, the machine has been located in areas with 100 or more staff or on public sites such as the Airport and the Sea Terminal for a month at a time. The machine is operated and maintained by ourselves and all the profits from the machine benefit Breakthrough Breast Cancer Isle of Man.”

Tracey added: “To date we have raised over ?1,700. The machine is hard to miss with its bright pink livery, so if you spot it, please make a purchase as every sale will help this worthwhile local charity in their fundraising efforts.”
