Revised Public Counter Opening Hours - Courts of Justice

The General Registry has announced that with effect from Wednesday 2nd January 2013 the opening hours for the public counter of the courts office where payments are made and documents lodged for filing will be as follows:

9.30am to 4.30pm (Monday to Thursday) and 9.30am to 4.00pm (Fridays). 

Persons having business in the Isle of Man Courts are reminded, that in accordance with the provisions of the Rules of the High Court of Justice 2009, for the purpose of Court filing deadlines etc, documents received other than at the public counter or by post (e.g. by placing it in the letterbox of the Courts of Justice) after 9.00am on any day will be treated as if filed at 9.00am on the next day on which the court office is open.  Documents received by post on a day when the court office is open, shall be treated as filed at 12.00noon on that day. 

Telephone payments for fixed penalties, maintenance and Court fines can be made by calling 686423 during the revised opening times and fixed penalties can be paid at any Post Office counter during their normal hours of business.

Access to the Courts and the opening hours for the reception desk will remain as at present:

9am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 5pm on Friday.
