The deadline is fast approaching for the ‘Manx2 Factor’ competition to find schoolchildren to deliver the video safety briefings on aircraft used by Manx2.com.
The deadline for receipt of entries is Monday 19th November.
The competition, run in partnership with the Department of Education and Children (DEC), is open to all Isle of Man primary school children in years 4, 5 and 6.
All auditions will be held at participating primary schools, and the schools will each choose three girls and three boys ready for final judging later this month, by representatives from Manx2.com and the DEC.
Manx2.com Managing Director David Buck said: ‘We first ran this competition in 2010, which was a great experience enjoyed by everyone involved and we would really like local schools to take part in this again. Passenger safety is always our first priority and feedback has shown that passengers do give their full attention to this unique, unusual and entertaining video.’
John Gill, Head of Legal and Administrative Services at the DEC, said: ‘We hope pupils have a lot of fun making their films. The video is a great twist on the standard aircraft safety briefing and one that will be seen by many thousands of visitors and locals travelling on Manx2.com routes.’
All children interested in entering should speak to their head teacher. The winners will have their final videos professionally recorded and these safety messages will then be used on approximately 20 flights every day, guaranteeing each winner instant stardom!
