Manx Telecom donate laptops to residential home

by isleofman.com 19th November 2012

Three laptops have been donated to a care home in Ramsey to help residents learn computer skills and surf the internet. The laptops have been donated to Grove Mount Residential Home by Manx Telecom. Graham Shimmin, Head of Product Management at the telecoms company, presented them to Mary Barlow, Care Manager at Grove Mount. Mary said:

“We extremely grateful to Manx Telecom for this brilliant donation. There are several residents who are keen to learn new computer skills or learn how to do internet shopping and use emails and the laptops are ideal for these purposes.”

Graham Shimmin commented:

“At Manx Telecom we’re always keen to support the Island’s community and this is one of many examples of how we do this, either by providing funding for charities through our It’s Our Community scheme or, as in this case, a one off donation of computer equipment. We’re delighted to hear that the laptops will be put to good use by the residents.”
