Work is underway to produce an updated Guide to Isle of Man Food and Drink, for publication in Spring 2013. The fourth version of the Guide will be larger and with more entries than ever before and is designed to help visitors, residents and businesses locate the very best local Manx food and drink.
The publication forms part of I Love Manx’s continued campaign to raise awareness of local produce which is defined as produce grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed locally on the Isle of Man.
Local producers are invited to complete an application form for free entry into the updated Guide. Sections cover: cakes, pies, puddings and bread; dairy; drinks; eggs; game; hampers; honey; ice cream; jams and preserves; meat and poultry; oil; seafood; sweet treats; vegetables, mushrooms, herbs and fruit. In addition, the Guide will have information to help consumers find the best places to purchase local produce including supermarkets, farmers markets and farm shops, bakeries, butchers , shows and Festivals. Entries from Isle of Man Meats, Isle of Man Creamery and Laxey Glen Mills plus eateries who have gained Taste and Harvest Isle of Man accreditation will complete a “One Stop Shop” for anyone interested in local food and drink.
