The publication forms part of I Love Manx’s continued campaign to raise awareness of  local produce which is defined as produce grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed locally on the Isle of Man.

Local producers are invited to complete an application form for free entry into the updated Guide.  Sections cover:  cakes, pies, puddings and bread; dairy; drinks; eggs; game; hampers; honey; ice cream; jams and preserves; meat and poultry; oil; seafood; sweet treats; vegetables, mushrooms, herbs and fruit. In addition, the Guide will have information to help consumers find the best places to purchase local produce including supermarkets, farmers markets and farm shops, bakeries, butchers , shows and Festivals.  Entries from Isle of Man Meats, Isle of Man Creamery and Laxey Glen Mills plus eateries who have gained Taste and Harvest Isle of Man accreditation will complete a “One Stop Shop” for anyone interested in local food and drink.

Application form can be downloaded at http://www.gov.im/daff/food_and_farming/food.xml or obtained from DEFA, Thie Slieau Whallian, Foxdale Raod, St Johns IM4 3AS.  The deadline for entries is 31st January 2013.  Any queries as to whether a product is appropriate for the Guide can be directed to 687343 or 685856.
