Lifelong Friends Scoop ?1m EuroMillions Win

by isleofman.com 23rd November 2012

Two friends from Douglas, Isle of Man, who have known each other since the age of four are celebrating today after winning ?1m on EuroMillions.

Plasterer David Skillen, who is 35, has been playing the Lottery for five years, always with the same numbers, and has had several small wins.

And on November 16th the two friends matched the EuroMillions Raffle code on their EuroMillions ticket winning ?1m.

David, who lives in rented accommodation with his family, is now planning on buying his own home.

He does five lines of numbers on EuroMillions every Friday and always plays lucky dips.

David, who has two children and two stepchildren, added: “I checked our ticket on the television and I could not believe it when our ticket matched the Raffle code.

“I checked, checked again and then had to ask my girlfriend to triple check.

“I actually thought, this cannot be real. It still hasn’t sunk in. I am still trying to get my head around it.”

David, who bought the winning ticket from Governors Hill Stores in Willaston, says he will continue to play EuroMillions and will now play on a Tuesday too.

For every line of EuroMillions numbers which is entered there is a bonus chance of winning a separate Millionaire Raffle draw and becoming ?1,000,000 richer! Millionaire Raffle numbers are generated randomly and comprise three letters followed by six numbers (for example, RCH135791). Because the Millionaire Raffle is just that, a raffle game, you need to exactly match the nine-digit number that is drawn in order to win.

The estimated jackpot for today (Friday) is ?12 million.
