Thompson B 28 v C & S Joinery D 17
Evenly matched across the court the only difference between these two teams was Thompson shooters conversion rate seemed to improve throughout the game. C & S played very well as a team, worked extremely hard to keep themselves in the game and never gave up the fight to stop the Thompson girls. The Thompson mid court managed to make some vital interceptions and created the turn overs they needed to create a gap in the scoreline. All in all every girl on the court deserves a mention as they all played a hard game and did their clubs proud, proving a great game to watch.
PoTM: Danielle Mottram (Thompson B), Katie Cubbon (C&S Joinery D).
Route 1 Connections 56 v Magic Carpets 30
Route 1 started strong and continued maintained this throughout the game. After a few confusing weeks they had managed to take to the court in a positive manner which ended resulted in a good game for them. Route 1 had put out the young defensive duo of Paige Skillicorn and Emma Lloyd-Williams who both proved a force to be reckoned with and played an outstanding game. With the defense tight and working hard to make the interceptions, it created a good vibe which proved infectious as it continued up the court to the ever reliable Katrina Keeling who barely missed a shot throughout the whole game. Magic Carpets put up a good fight and Centre Breeshey Hutchinson played a good game to try and keep her girls in with a chance. All the magic girls faught tiressly to try and remain in the game but Route 1 were just to strong and took the win with ease.
PoTM: Hannah Roberts (Route 1 Connections), Sarah Collister (Magic Carpets).
Thompson C 14 v Marbree Moters 33
This was a goal for goal game in the first quarter but the second quarter proved not to be so good for Thompson as Marbree Motors took advantage of some of the changes Thompson had made to increase the difference in the score. The Marbree girls played a quick game just leaving Thompson trailing on the transition. The speed of the sister duo Michelle Draper and Sammy Bowden proved just to much which left the circle open for the Marbree shooters to obtain the ball in the circle and convert. Sarah Shaw had a great game for Marbree in at WD. As this was the first time many of the Thompson girls had taken to the court they all played extremely well and once they settle in will be a good team. Lynsey Aichenson the Thompson shooter managed to secure player of the match and if she continues to play the way she did then she is sure to rack up many more. Well done to both teams and good luck to all the new Thomspon players.
PoTM: Lynsey Aicheson (Thompson) Sammy Bowden (Marbree Motors).
