Ramsey Fire Crews attend restaurant fire

by isleofman.com 26th November 2012

Fire Crews from Ramsey were called to a restaurant in Parliament Street where a fire had started in an oven. The staff had attempted to extinguish the fire but had been unable to put it out and they called the Fire Service whilst evacuating the premises.

Fire crews entered the kitchen of the restaurant wearing breathing apparatus and quickly brought the fire under control and after they had extinguished the fire they removed the oven to the outside where they continued to apply water ensuring that it was cool and safe before they left.

Fire damage was confined to the area immediately surrounding the oven but an electrician was needed to ensure that the electrical supply was made safe.
