2013 Heritage Railway Season Tickets

by isleofman.com 27th November 2012

The Department of Community, Culture and Leisure are pleased to announce the continuation of their Heritage Railway Resident Season tickets, with some new additions for 2013:

•         All Systems Ticket
This allows unlimited travel on scheduled services for all three of the Island’s heritage railways (Steam Railway, Manx Electric Railway and the Snaefell Mountain Railway). The cost of the All Systems Ticket would be equivalent to six return journeys on the Steam Railway, six return journeys on the Manx Electric Railway, or seven journeys to the Summit on the Mountain Railway. So even if you ride each of the three railways just twice during the season you have nearly covered the cost of the ticket.

This ticket option costs ?75 per adult, ?37.50 per child.

•         Steam Season Ticket         NEW FOR 2013
This allows unlimited travel on scheduled services of the Island’s heritage Steam Railway. The steam season will run from February to November and owners of this ticket option can cover the cost just by riding a return journey along the line five times during the season, which could be just once every two months.

This ticket option costs ?60 per adult, ?30 per child.

•         Electric Season Ticket       NEW FOR 2013
This includes travel on the two Victorian tram railways; the Manx Electric Railway and the Snaefell Mountain Railway. The Manx Electric season runs from March to November and the Snaefell season runs from March to October. Owners of this ticket option can cover the cost by riding the Electric and Mountain Railways to Snaefell Summit just six times during the season. At the Summit, spectacular views await and the Summit Cafe will be available for hot drinks, snacks and Sunday lunches.

This ticket option costs ?60 per adult, ?30 per child.

•         Rail Card
The Rail Card entitles the holder to 50% discount on travel with any of the scheduled services on the Island’s three heritage railways. In addition to that, the Rail Card also has a detachable section entitling the holder to a discount of ?5 (adults) or ?2.50 (child) off one of our many special events, such as the St Valentine’s Love Train, Snaefell Sunset Dinners and new events for 2013 such as the Murder Mysteries.

This ticket option costs ?15 per adult, ?7.50 per child.

With so many season tickets options, customers can choose the most suitable for them. Tickets are all priced so that you don’t have to be a regular railway traveller to receive great value for money. All of the Season Tickets are valid for scheduled services and not for additional trains or trams used for special events. However, there are many Railways special events that include scheduled services where these tickets would be valid. These include the popular Teddy Bears Picnic, Rail Ale to Real Ale and Island at War.

The Island’s Heritage Railways are a historic and unique way to travel and experience the outstanding views of Manx scenery. They are also an ideal way to visit many attractions along the lines like Castle Rushen, Port Erin Beach, Laxey Wheel, Ballaglass Glen and of course Snaefell Summit.

Season tickets make a great Christmas gift for friends, loved ones or even for yourself. To purchase yours contact the Welcome Centre on 01624 662525.
