Paddy's Fish for Peel

by isleofman.com 30th November 2012

Paddy’s the fishmongers has recently opened a fresh fish counter in the newly developed Shoprite in Peel.

The fish counter compliments the new Fresh Market place within the store and has an emphasis on locally caught seafood including Manx Queenies, Crab and Pollack alongside sustainable Tuna and Tilapia as well as Paddy’s own favourites such as homemade fishcakes, luxury fish pies and Paddy’s very own smoked Salmon.

Tim Croft of Paddy’s commented, “The opening of the fish counter within the refurbished Peel Shoprite marks a further expansion of the fresh fish offering for the Isle of Man and comes as a direct response to growing consumer demand for high quality fresh seafood on the island. Shoprite have done a wonderful job in refurbishing the Peel store and the new fish counter sits perfectly within the offering. At a time when some companies are cutting back this clearly demonstrates the commitment both businesses have to the Isle of Man retail sector.”

In addition to products available on the fresh fish counter there is also a wide range of convenient ‘seafood to go’ available from the chill, this includes salmon portions, boneless cod fillets plus pre prepared fish kebabs.

Tim Croft further added, “We are aiming to cater for the needs of different shoppers, those that want to discuss specific requirements with their fishmonger and those that simply want to grab and go. Nothing is too much trouble for the friendly fish counter staff who will aim to cater for all requirements including filleting and removing skin or bones.”
Paddy’s fresh fish counters can also be found in Port Erin and Victoria Road Shoprite stores as well Robinsons at Ballapaddag.
