A third planning inquiry into the plans to build 100 homes behind the school in Kirk Michael has opened in the village.

The planning inspector is hearing evidence from Heritage Homes, the Kirk Michael Residents Group and other interested parties, including Michael MHK Alfred Cannan.

The inquiry, in the Methodist Hall, is expected to last four days.

The first inquiry found in favour of the Kirk Michael Residents Group.

A second application was submitted by Heritage Homes and accepted by the Council of Ministers.

The second inquiry was held but a report was not published after the inspector suffered a major illness.
