Royal romp and derby success for Town

Douglas Royal all but sealed qualification for this season’s Warehouse Fitness Gymnasium sponsored Floodlit Cup following a 15-1 victory over Gymns on Sunday.

Leading 7-1 at half-time, Donna Shimmin (four), Leanne Quayle (three), Becci Pate (three), Sarah Breen, Siobhann Lockwood, Kym Hicklin, Bekkie Colquitt and Bekki Cole netted for the Ballfletcher outfit.

The Tromode club’s response came via a Lauren Miller effort.

In the remaining Group A match, Castletown defeated Rushen Utd 9-0.

Leading 3-0 at half-time, Kira Buchan (four), Sarah Denny (three), Emma Davenport and Justine Carran ensured a derby romp for the Reds.
