The Manx Wildlife Trust recently took delivery of a much-needed replacement for its ageing pick-up truck. The truck is essential to Reserves Officer, Tricia Sayle, for accessing the charity’s nature reserves throughout the Island and transporting tools and occasionally volunteers - or Midweek Muckers as they’re more commonly known - to and from the reserves for their effective management and maintenance.
Sourced by the 4WD & Van Centre, the new truck is a 2011 ex-demo, Mitsubishi L200 with very low mileage which the Trust hopes will serve them well for many years to come. Anne Marie Kilgallon, the Manx Wildlife Trust’s Fundraising and Wildlife Advocacy Officer, said, “We would like to thank everyone who contributed towards the cost of our wonderful new truck: the Gough Ritchie Charitable Trust, all those who took part in or supported our Raise a Ransom for Wildlife fundraising events during the past couple of years and everyone who purchased copies of the Muckers Calendar 2012 or made a donation to the Truck Fund.”
