Manx MOT mooted

by isleofman.com 3rd December 2012

A Manx version of the MOT test is being proposed by the Department of Infrastructure.

Currently, commercial vehicles are subject to annual tests, while private ones are only checked if they are more than three years old when they are first registered on the Island.

The DoI examines vehicles involved in fatal accidents, and has found around 10% appear to have faults which contributed to them.

A survey had been put together by the department, to collect public feedback on the proposals.

It can be found on the government's website, gov.im
