Bacchas march on

by isleofman.com 1st December 2012

Bacchas A are on the road to what they hope will be a league and cup double.

Second half goals from Kim Carney and Alex Bell fired the newly crowned champions to a second win in a week over the team they disposed as top dogs, Valkyrs A.

A 2-0 win sealed a place in the Wi Manx Mixed Cup semi-finals and a tie against Vikings A.

Vikings were pushed hard by Valkyrs B but a solitary goal from Zoe Carney settled their tie.

The surprise of the day saw Ramsey A defeat Bacchas B 2-1.

Ali Breen and Matty Grice were the scorers for the northerners, although Bacchas B – who scored through Chris Bass – had nine players throughout.

Celts were the other side to seal a last four spot with a 4-0 success over Vikings B.

Jon Penman, Ste Ronan (two) and Christian Steriopoulos were on target.

Vikings played the entire match with 10 players.
