Windfarm consultation today

by isleofman.com 30th November 2012

Celtic Array is hosting the first of its public consultations today (Friday) over the proposed Rhiannon wind farm.

Staff are giving presentations and answering questions at Mount Tabor Methodist Church Hall in Port St Mary.

There are fears from government that wind farms in the Irish Sea could affect the nation's shipping routes.

This part of the project is due to be located to the south of the Island.

Laura Jeffs, head of development at Celtic Array, outlined the key aspects of this part of their project:

The Port St Mary consultation will run until 7pm. There will be further consultations at the Manx Museum in Douglas on Saturday from 10am-5pm and Ramsey town hall on Monday from 11am-7pm.
