Period of change for emergency services looms

A period of significant change awaits a government department, its minister has acknowledged.

Home Affairs will enter a time of transition early in the New Year with changes in senior personnel and the introduction of new ways of working.

Gary Roberts will officially take over as chief constable in January, succeeding the retiring Mike Langdon, while in February, Brian Draper is due to retire as chief fire officer.

Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson says that role has evolved over recent times:
