Surprise at C of E vote, says Ley

A vote to reject the introduction of women bishops to the Church of England has amazed and bewildered many.

So says Manx Radio’s religious affairs correspondent.

On Tuesday, the General Synod fell six votes short of allowing women bishops.

However, Judith Ley says while a degree of credibility has been lost, the church will continue to play a key role in society:
