MGP gains international status

Next year's Manx Grand Prix will have international status.

The news means that competitors from countries such as Australia, New Zealand and the United States of America can now compete on their own federation licences.

Previously they needed an additional European Open licence to do so.

Organisers hope this will boost entries as plans are made to celebrate the 90th anniversary meeting with a past winners parade.

Manx Motor Cycle Club Chairman Harvey Garton is delighted and says there is room on the grid for more than the 50 newcomers that raced at the meeting this year:
