by isleofman.com 22nd November 2012

A well-known name on the local aviation scene is about to change its name - and ownership.

Manx2.com has been bought out by its management, and is re-branding under a new name – Citywing.

The new company will remain based in the Isle of Man and all flights booked under Manx2 will be transferred to Citywing

Chairman of Manx2 Noel Hayes will remain chairman of the new company and its largest shareholder.

Managing Director David Buck says the time was right for a change

Mr Buck says it's too early to say if any change to local staffing levels will be needed but Mr Hayes says the management buy-out team remains entirely Manx: (play audio)

Citywing's first flights will be on January 2 2013.
