Island's credit rating confirmed

by isleofman.com 21st November 2012

Ratings agency Standard & Poors has affirmed the Island’s AA+ sovereign credit rating.

The company says the Island’s high per-capita income, strong government finances, and consensus policymaking means a stable outlook for our economy.

S&P says it rates our long- and short-term sovereign credit ratings as AA+/A-1+.

And it points out there’s a balance of risk being struck between the government's balance sheet and external vulnerabilities, including potential problems from offshore parents or changes in international regulations.
