VAT survey to give clearer picture

by isleofman.com 19th November 2012

Households all over the Island are to be contacted to help with a survey of the Manx VAT spend.

This will give a more accurate figure to form the basis of calculating the VAT income the Island recieves.

It follows two cuts in the Island's overall figures by the UK. That has forced cuts on Manx government spending.

Economic adviser to the government, Stephen Carse, says the results should be of long-term benefit.
