Weather warning; newspapers delayed

by isleofman.com 19th November 2012

Strong winds continue to batter the Island this morning (Monday).

There is a lot of standing water in places, as well as debris on the roads, so drive with care is the message.

The southerly gales are averaging speeds of up 40 miles per hour and that is going to continue for a few more hours yet.

Last night’s Steam Packet sailings between Douglas and Heysham were cancelled but this morning’s Ben-my-Chree sailing to Heysham and its afternoon return are operating as scheduled.

With last night’s sailings cancelled, the newspapers are being flown to the Island today so will be later than normal.

They should be in the shops between 10.30am and 11am.
