Rutter triumphant in Macau

by isleofman.com 18th November 2012

TT star Michael Rutter has put in a storming performance in Macau to win the delayed Grand Prix.

Rutter led from the first lap to the tenth to chalk-up a record-breaking eight wins on the Macau circuit.

Setting a blistering pace the Superbike maestro pulled a 1.6 second gap by the end of the second lap, doing what one report's described as a 'disappearing act' which left the rest of the field behind!

Rutter crossed the line on his SMT Honda 4.9 seconds ahead of GB's Martin Jessopp on the Riders Ducati in a repeat of last year's result.

Ice Valley BMW's Simon Andrews took third spot on the podium with Gary Johnson in 4th place.

Manxman Connor Cummins finished 6th, John McGuinness was 7th while Manx contender Dan Kneen ended the race in 9th place.

The blue riband race held over from yesterday because of poor weather and bad light, was run in dry conditions.
