Ramsey’s recent run of form continued with a 22-8 win over third placed Liverpool Collegiate in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two at Mooragh Park.

Ramsey led 11-6 at half-time after Dan Bonwick’s first half try and two penalties from Fintan Cummins.

In the second half, despite losing two men to the sin bin, Ramsey added a second try through Mark Oldfield and there were two further penalties, one from Cummins and the other from Andy Cleator.

The win takes Ramsey clear of the dreaded relegation zone as fellow strugglers Marple lost at Vagabonds.

Douglas were hoping to make it 11 wins from 11 away at Sefton in the top of the table clash and led 13-12 at half-time.

Daryn Thompson notched yet another try and Callum Carine also crossed for a try with Bryn Snellgrove adding a penalty.

However, Sefton opened up in the second half and scored 29 unanswered points to win the game 41-13 and go clear at the top of the table.

Vagabonds’ three match losing streak ended when they beat Marple 23-7 at Ballafletcher.

Tries from Leigh Kennaugh, Ross Pulman and Ste Gawne, plus two penalties and a conversion from Johnny Beckley, made the game safe for Vagas.

With Ramsey beating Liverpool Collegiate, Vagas will gain at least one place in the standings.
