Delays to plans to clean-up the Sellafield nuclear plant in Cumbria have angered the Environment Minister.
Phil Gawne was speaking after the latest report by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority highlighted failures to meet targets on both cost and timescale.
Mr Gawne says he's concerned that the spiralling cost of decommissioning Sellafield will not be met and has written to the UK Energy Secreetary to seek reassurances on safety.
It was also announced on Thursday that Sellafield is to be prosecuted over allegations it sent low-level radioactive waste to a landfill site.
The Manx government has long called for a complete closure of Sellafield and Mr Gawne says the latest news does little to inspire confidence:
