Goals galore in women's league

Douglas Royal maintained their push for the Warehouse Fitness Women’s Only sponsored league with a 6-1 win over Gymns on Sunday.

The game was sealed by half-time as Royal raced into a 5-0 lead, inspired by a hat-trick from Shimmin.

Bekkie Colquitt, Bekki Cole and Sarah Breen netted the others with Rachael Beckley on target for the Tromode side.

Reigning champions Corinthians netted the biggest scoreline of the day be defeating 10-player DHSOB 18-0.

Leading 9-0 at the break, Lauren Christian (five), Alsivarne McGregor (three), Stephanie Hall (three), Jade Burden (two), Sarah O’Reilly, Anna Dillon, Jenna McStay, Olivia Tombs and Shannon Groves scored for the Ballafletcher outfit.

In the southern derby, Casltetown defeated Colby 3-0 at Station Road, courtesy of goals from Sarah Denny (two) and Kira Buchan.

In the remaining match, Peel clinched an 8-1 win over Rushen Utd.

Leading 4-1 at the break, Nicola Naden (two), Katie Meads (two), Kayleigh Greggor, Aalish Burden, Maxine Smalley and an own goal made up the tally for the westerners.

The southerners’ consolation came from Carole Kneen.
