The Next Big Thing – the Isle of Man’s answer to Britain’s Got Talent – is inviting young people to audition for this prize-packed Island-wide talent competition open to young people aged between 11 and 17.
The competition, organised by Manx charity Junior Achievement Isle of Man, is open to any young person with any talent. Entrants must be aged 11 to 17 on February 23rd, 2013. But the Next Big Thing’s not just looking for the next Adele; any young person with any talent can apply – it’s as simple as that.
Do you have a talent that deserves to be seen? If so here is your opportunity. You could be in with a chance of performing in front of a packed house at the Gaiety Theatre and maybe winning one of three fantastic cash prizes totalling £900.
The closing date for applications is December 7th and auditions will be held in January 2013. Entry forms can be downloaded at www.thenextbigthing.im.
15 acts will be selected to take part in the grand final at the Gaiety Theatre on February 23rd when the winner will take away a fantastic cash prize of £500, sponsored by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company. Second prize is £250, sponsored by the Manx Educational Foundation and the £150 third prize is sponsored by Nigel A.A.McFarlane.
Junior Achievement’s chief executive Sue Cook said: ‘When we launched the Next Big Thing in 2011 it captured the hearts and minds of so many people and brought to the fore some truly outstanding young talent. Last year’s winners, the gymnastics troupe Asteria, went on to perform at a number of large-scale events and we’re confident that this year there’ll be similar opportunities for whoever lifts the trophy.’
The Next Big Thing is in aid of Junior Achievement Isle of Man and sponsored by Paragon Recruitment, Energy FM and Mannifest.
