Neighbours View Plans for School Extension

by isleofman.com 9th November 2012

Neighbours of Ballakermeen High School have had the opportunity to find out about plans for an extension to the Sixth Form area of the school. A special information session at Ballakermeen was very well attended by those who live nearby, supported by Douglas Councillors McNicholl, Thomas and Skinner. Drawings and plans were on display and the architects and project managers on hand to answer questions and explain details of the proposed scheme.

Headteacher Adrienne Burnett was pleased by the large turnout. She commented: ‘ We thought it was important to make sure that our neighbours had as much information as possible, and to give them a chance to make suggestions and raise any concerns. We have listened to their input, which will be invaluable as the scheme evolves and progresses. Ballakermeen students were able to explain exactly why this scheme is so necessary and we are very grateful for all the support we received.’
