A book about the T.T. races has been nominated for a prestigious prize.
Times journalist Rick Broadbent's "That Near Death Thing - Inside the T.T.: The World's Most Dangerous Race" has been short-listed for the 2013 William Hill sports book award.
The winner from seven contenders will be announced on Monday 26th November.
The book focuses primarily on the experiences of four leading riders at the 2012 meeting and picks up with them as they prepare for the 2011 event.
A big part of the story is about the return to racing for Conor Cummins after his accident on the Mountain in the Senior.
Rick says he has been blown away by the T.T. and the courage of the competitors:-
