Pinewood to dominate Keys again

by isleofman.com 3rd November 2012

South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft this week said she'd keep asking questions about Pinewood Shepperton until she received satisfactory answers - and she's staying true to her word.

In the House of Keys sitting next week she has three more questions for the treasury minister about the Pinewood deal - two on the Media Development Fund and one about the role of Isle of Man Film.

There are also questions for oral answer on Sudden Oak Death, Ash Die Back, CCTV, carers and Sarah's Law for various ministers, all from North Douglas MHK Bill Henderson.

And Onchan MHK Peter Karran wants to know if 90% of the electricity consumed in the Isle of Man over the last six months was imported.

The bulk of the questions for written answer come from North Douglas MHK John Houghton.

They're for Economic Development Minister John Shimmin and ask for the costs of attending various meetings and events to be broken down and the tangible benefit gained by going.

Onchan MHK Zac Hall has a query about special education needs.

Meanwhile in the Legislative Council the Moneylenders (Amendment) Bill 2012 is at the second reading and clauses stage, while the Income Tax Bill 2012 gets its first reading.
