Local authorities announce fireworks plans

Douglas will kick off this year's Bonfire Night celebrations with events this weekend.


There will be a fireworks display, a best dressed Guy Fawkes costume competition and a bonfire on the beach starting at 6:30pm on Saturday.


From 7.30pm on Monday, Ramsey holds its celebrations in Mooragh Park while Peel lets off fireworks from the breakwater and Port Erin  holds a display on the beach.


Councillor John Faragher says there will be plenty to take in on Douglas promenade on Saturday:
