Minister promises end to postcode lottery

by isleofman.com 31st October 2012

Doing away with the postcode lottery when it comes to social housing is on the agenda for the Department of Social Care.

Minister Chris Robertshaw says as they move on to the next stage of the fundamental review, the department is going to work on the detail for the key policy areas.

He says there was an excellent response to the public consultation, and now the task is to talk with those directly involved in and affected by public sector housing.

These include the 17 local housing authorities, construction industry and tenants, and the first of these meetings is due to take place next month. [nov]

Mr Robertshaw says change is not easy - but in this case it's extremely necessary.
