Fire service assists with biker rescue

by isleofman.com 29th October 2012

Crews from Douglas Fire Station helped with the removal of an injured motorbike rider from a remote spot in Glen Auldyn on Saturday afternoon.

Once assessments had been made and the casualty treated at the scene by paramedics it was decided that because of the location, and for the safety of everyone involved, it would be best to get an RAF helicopter to assist with the rescue.

The casualty was safely airlifted to hospital at 3pm for further treatment.
