Man prosecuted for dumping vending machine

A Douglas man’s been prosecuted for littering after leaving a cigarette vending machine on Steam Railway land.

Douglas Borough Council took out the prosecution against Frank John Thompson of Lheannag Park.

The corporation says he failed to answer a summons to appear in court twice but in his absence, witnesses told Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes that Thompson was responsible for dumping the vending cabinet.

Thompson was fined ?200 and ordered to pay ?135.60 compensation and costs of ?87.50
