Clue may help trace violent intruders

by isleofman.com 27th October 2012

Police say a torch left at the scene by two burglars may hold vital clues in tracing them.

The two men attacked a 62 year old man who disturbed them as they broke into his home on Bowring Road in Ramsey at 7.30pm on Wednesday, October 17.

The man was left with significant injuries and the incident has sparked a major manhunt in the North.

Sergeant Andy Kneen of Ramsey Police says those behind the attack left a rechargeable black plastic torch behind.

Officers say they suspect the men were looking for alcohol – but they escaped with a silver Citizen Quartz Eco-drive watch.

Police, led by CID, are still pursuing a number of lines of inquiry in the case and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

If you have any information you can contact the investigation team on 631212 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
