Island's energy imported

The Island has imported almost all of its energy from the UK since May.

The MEA says maintenance work at Pulrose Power Station forced the Island to buy 90% of its electricity over the past six months.

John Harper, Operations Manager at the power station, said the work which is now complete was essential to keep future output at the current level.

But did the imports come at a cost?
