by isleofman.com 25th October 2012

A jury will hear the final summing up of evidence in the Douglas East by-election fraud trial this morning.

25 year old Kerry Rothwell from Onchan and Gail Corrin, aged 40 of Douglas deny conspiracy to affect legal purposes by improper means.

Both worked for TV chef Kevin Woodford’s campaign in the run up to the contest in 2010 – he was eventually beaten by Chris Robertshaw.

This morning, the court will hear a final summing-up, before being directed by Deemster Turner and retiring to consider their verdicts.
