Reserves allocation nearly spent by government

"Timing differences" between income and expenditure mean the government has spent nearly all the reserves set aside for the current financial year.

It's been revealed in Treasury's half-year report the difference between the Island's income and expenditure for the first six months - the deficit - was ?51 million.

Treasury Minister Eddie Teare told Marian Kenny such disparity is not uncommon at this stage:
