At the Awards Ceremony held at St German’s Cathedral in Peel on the 19 October 74 students will receive higher education awards in a range of subjects, including four first class honours degrees in Business Studies and Computer Sciences and the first two graduates of the Work Based and Integrative Studies degree programme.

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Chester, Professor Tim Wheeler presented the awards which have been conferred by both Chester and Liverpool John Moore’s Universities.

What makes this occasion a highlight of the islands educational calendar is that all these students achieved their awards through studying here on the Island at the IOM. Support is provided for students to pursue higher education in the UK, however the opportunity’s to study on island either full time or whilst remaining at work – have and are increasing.

John Lindon, Isle of Man Bank who sponsor the event said,

"Education is an important focus area of our Community Investment sponsorship on the island and our Isle of Man Bank partnership with the Higher Education Awards at Isle of Man College supports recognition of students for their well-earned success"
