Emergency call-out at Ronaldsway

by isleofman.com 18th October 2012

There was a full precautionary emergency call out at Ronaldsway airport this afternoon (Thurs)

It came around 2.15pm after the crew of a Van Air Europe Let410 aircraft, flying to Newcastle on behalf of Manx2.com, noticed a fluctuation on a cockpit gauge and shut down the right hand engine as a precaution.

It's understood the problem was connected with engine oil pressure.

The aircraft had to return to the Island and landed safely around 2.30pm. Emergency services stood down a short time later.

Passengers were transferred to a standby aircraft which operated the service to Newcastle.
