A 20p-an-hour pay rise for civil servants will help steer the Isle of Man away from recession.
So says Chairman of the Civil Service Commission Alf Cannan after announcing the pay deal suggested by unions.
He says the raise will mean more to lower-paid workers and represents a fair deal, although departments will have to find the money themselves with no extra cash coming from the Treasury.
