Results of gambling survey revealed

by isleofman.com 5th October 2012

Just under four per cent of men and two per cent of women are in the "at risk" category for problem gambling in the Island.

Those findings were revealed last night (Thursday) after a survey was sent out to 4,000 homes earlier this year to try and shed light on the extent of gambling addictions.

The exercise was carried out by GamCare Isle of Man in conjunction with the National Centre for Social Research, the Department of Health Mental Health Service and the IOM Gambling Supervision Commission,

The Island's problem gambling support worker, Lyndsey Smart, says it’s been a worthwhile exercise.
