Public Accounts Committee: oral hearings on DTL and ISD contracts

The Public Accounts Committee, a Standing Committee of Tynwald, will be taking oral evidence in public on two occasions next week.

 

The first session, on Tuesday 9th October 2012 at 2.30 pm, forms part of the Committee’s investigation of the contract between the Department of Tourism and Leisure and Signature Sponsorship Limited and related matters. The witnesses appearing on this occasion will be as follows:

 

2.30 pm - Hon David Cretney MHK, former Minister for Tourism and Leisure, and Mrs Carol Glover, former Chief Executive of the Department of Tourism and Leisure

 

3.30pm - Mr Geoff Le Page, formerly of the Department of Tourism and Leisure

 

The second session, on Friday 12th October at 2.30pm, forms part of the Committee’s ongoing work on ICT and the use of consultants. The Committee will hear on this occasion from Mr Allan Paterson, Director of the Information Systems Division, Department of Economic Development.

 

The evidence on both occasions will be taken in public in the Legislative Council Chamber, Legislative Buildings, Bucks Road, Douglas. Members of the public are welcome to attend.

 

The Public Accounts Committee comprises Mr A L Cannan MHK (Vice-Chairman), Mrs B J Cannell MHK, Mr C G Corkish MHK and Mr L I Singer MHK.

 

The post of Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee is currently vacant and will be filled by Tynwald at its next sitting. The previous Chairman, Hon Graham Cregeen MHK, became ineligible to serve on the Committee when he was appointed Minister for Community, Culture and Leisure in July.
