TV chef thanked for personal act of kindness

A Peel woman has described how she seized an opportunity at the recent Food and Drink Festival to thank TV chef Ainsley Harriott for his kindness towards her late husband when he was fighting cancer.

Lorna Moffatt collared Ainsley in a break between performances at Knockaloe last month, to present him with a glossy book about the Isle of Man,

Her husband David, a fan of Ainsley's TV show Ready, Steady Cook! had written a poem to Ainsley from his hospital bed in 2000, and he wrote back by return, thanking David and wishing him well.

Lorna says the festival was her opportunity to thank the star for his concern all those years ago:
