First Manx chief outlines priorities

by isleofman.com 1st October 2012

The Island’s Chief Constable designate says his priorities are clear.

In January, Gary Roberts will become the first Manx Chief when he succeeds the retiring Mike Langdon in the top job.

Mr Roberts, who started out as a constable in Douglas 28 years ago, will have to run the force on a much-reduced budget as the government continues its drive to cut public spending in all areas.

However, he insists that will not affect what’s important.
