League leaders Sefton beat Vagabonds 17-11 at Ballafletcher to maintain their charge at the top of South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two.

Early tries from David Chiocchi and Adam Marnell put Sefton in front.

Steve Johnson added a third on the half hour mark to give Sefton a 17-0 lead before Vagas decided to come to the party.

Johnny Beckley finally got the home flag flying with two penalties to leave his side trailing 17-6 at half-time.

In the second half, Sefton failed to build on their lead as they tired towards the end.

Vagas got back into the game with a Sam Liver try but ran out of time before they could gain more than a losing bonus point.

Douglas maintained their 100 per cent record with a 20-18 win away at Liverpool Collegiate.

Douglas led 10-3 at half-time with a try from Callum Carine and a penalty and conversion from skipper Scott Goodall.

In the second half, Andy Evans added a second try with Goodall again adding the conversion and penalty.

Douglas survived a late scare when Collegiate missed a last minute penalty right in front of goal.

Ramsey went down 14-19 at Mooragh Park to fellow strugglers Wallasey.

Tries from Craig Long and Lance Wyllie, plus two conversions from Fintan Cummins, gave Ramsey a 14-5 half-time lead.

However, they couldn’t hang onto it in the second half and two Wallasey tries gave them the points.
