DDP opposition to Victoria Street bus station plans

by isleofman.com 27th September 2012

The Douglas Development Partnership says it's firmly opposed to proposals for a new bus station in Victoria Street.

A suggestion to locate the main bus facility on the well-known thoroughfare was put forward in a recent government consultation.

Whilst accepting that there is an urgent need for a new bus station in the capital, Development Manager Chris Pyecroft says such a facility in Victoria Street would severely damage the town centre commercially and aesthetically and they would like to see other suggestions given more serious consideration.
