A man convicted of a sexually grooming a teenager on the Isle of Man has had a seven year Sexual Offenders Prevention Order served on him.
Sixty one year old Anthony Duggan was sentenced to sixteen months in jail for grooming a 15 year old boy.
He's now working as a chef at a hotel on Albert Road in Blackpool and magistrates there were told a Sexual Offenders Prevention Order was needed to protect children in the area from what prosecutor Chris Keogh said was "serious sexual harm."
The court imposed a seven year SOPO on Duggan agreeing the application by Lancashire Police. Duggan's lawyer Peter Manning said his client had no objection to the order being made.
The terms of the order prevent Duggan having contact with children aged sixteen and under . . and from taking up any paid or voluntary work with children under sixteen. Mr Keogh said the police were happy that Duggan's current work did not put him on direct contact with youngsters.
He said that a previous order in the Isle of Man did not apply in Blackpool because it was a different jurisdiction.
